October Bank Holiday Opening Times

Below are DBS building opening times for the October Bank Holiday weekend.

The Library is open Saturday as normal, but we're CLOSED on Monday - as is the Aungier St building

August Bank Holiday WE - Library closure

For the August bank holiday week-end, AS and DS libraries will be closed on Monday 5th August 2013. The opening hours of DBS buildings will be as follow:

• Aungier Street: Sat. 3rd Aug., Sun. 4th Aug. and Mon. 5th Aug. 8.00 – 19.00
• Dame Street: Sat. 3rd Aug. 9.00 – 14.30
• Castle House: Sat. 3rd Aug. and Sun. 4th Aug. 8.00 – 19.00 - CLOSED on Mon. 5th Aug.
• Balfe Street and Bow Lane: CLOSED

Sunday/Bank Holiday opening - reminder

Hi there, we all hope that all is going well so far with your exams, and to continue helping you with these, remember that we are still open on Sundays and bank holiday as follow:

• Sunday 5th May 11am-5pm - both AS & DS libraries
• Monday 6th May 11am-5pm - DS library only
• Sunday 12th May 11am-5pm - both AS & DS libraries

Also, if you are studying for your ACCA exams in June, remember that AS Library will be open as follow:

• Sunday 2nd June 11am-5pm - AS library only
• Sunday 9th June 11am-5pm - AS library only

Getting closer to exams... 3 things to remember!

We are now entering the 'Dreaded Exam Period' and this means three things:

1) We open Sundays and bank holidays 11am to 5pm from the week starting March 24th until the week ending May 18th. All the 10 Sunday/bank holiday opening are listed in a previous post further below, and you can also see them all on the DS and AS library calendars on the Library website 'about the library' section: http://library.dbs.ie/AboutLibrary/Opening-Hours.htm



2) Most previous years' exam papers can be found on Moodle: click on the 'exam papers' link on the left hand side of your Moodle homepage. Exam papers are split by category - undergraduate arts, undergraduate business, postgraduate arts, postgraduate business, law and ICM/DBS diplomas/Springboard courses.





3) Fines double from April 1st until May 18th
So for 2-week, 1-week, 3-day & 7-day law (DS only) items, it will be €1.20 per item per day late.
And instead of €1.50 for 3-day loan, it will be €3.00 per day late.
DVDs remain at €3.00 per DVD per day late.

This is not a cynical revenue generating exercise by the library, this is a genuine attempt to keep books in circulation between all of you needing them for your revisions, and therefore prevent students from holding on to books while many others need them too.

Remember, fines are avoidable! Indeed, you can manage your account online yourself and see if you have books that are reserved by others (they will not be renewable), and renew your other books.
You can do so:
- online (click on the 'Access my library account' icon on the library website and login with the same login as your Moodle logins)
- at the self-issuing stations with your student card
- by telephoning the relevant library site (01-417 7572 for AS library / 01-417 8745 for DS library)

As every year to help you with your studies towards your summer exams, we will be open everyday - Sunday and Bank holiday included - from the week beginning March 18th until the week ending May 18th.

Please note the Sunday and Bank Holiday 11.00-17.00 opening hours for the following dates:

• Easter Sunday 31st March ONLY DS Library open 11-17 (AS Closed)

Bank Holiday Weekend Opening Times

It's the August Bank Holiday on Monday and some decent weather wouldn't go amiss.  Both libraries are closed on Monday, but some DBS buildings will remain open if you are looking for a quiet place to study. Here are the opening hours for the bank holiday weekend. 

Aungier Street

Saturday 4th , Sunday 5th  & Monday 6th  - 8:00am to 7:00pm

Dame Street

Saturday 4th 9:00am to 2:30pm

Castle House

Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th  8:00am to 6:00pm (Closed B/H Monday 6th)

Bank Holiday Closure

A short note to say that although we are open Sunday 5th June to facilitate study for professional school exams, we will as normal, be closed Bank Holiday Monday 6th June. The building will be open though, so there will be study space available if you need it. Alternatively, it's a bank holiday - why not take the day off?

May Bank Holiday Opening

I love these four day weeks and I wish that there were more of them. Anyway, we continue to be open 7 days a week right now, hence on Sunday (01/05) and Bank Holiday Monday (02/05) we will be open from 11am to 5pm. The Aungier St. building will be open from 8.00am to 7.00pm if you wish a few extra hours study outside of the library opening.

Dear students, just a quick post to remind you that to allow you to prepare and study for your exams, starting this week and finishing on Saturday May 14th, the two libraries will be open every day, Sundays and bank holidays included.

Extended opening hours

To allow you to prepare and study for your exams, the two libraries will be open every day - Sundays and bank holidays included. So starting from the week of March 21st until the week ending May 14th, our opening hours will be as follow:
