iPhone and Android Apps for EBSCO

There's an App for practically everything these days, so it's no surprise to see database vendors get in on the act.  EBSCO have recently come up with Apps for the iPhone and Android phones.  The free App (it has to be free really, doesn't it?) will allow users to search premium EBSCOhost database content.  The App allows users to:
  • Choose which databases to search
  • Limit results to full text or peer reviewed
  • Search a library's catalog
  • Sort by relevance or date
  • Retrieve full text results in HTML and/or PDF formats
  • Save results for offline access at a later date
  • Email results to self or others
  • Automatically save the 25 most recent searches
  • Cover flow display of results
The iPhone & Android app download link will be available at the bottom of EBSCOhost screens. Click the link and enter your email address in order to receive installation and authentication instructions.  These instructions consist of:
  • Download App from iTunes / Android market (link in email)
  • View the email on your smartphone and activate authentication key (link in email)
You must access the authentication link from your device. The activation link will expire in 24 hours. After activation the App should be keyed to those EBSCOhost databases available to DBS students
