Marketline

Once there was Marketline and now there is 360 Datamonitor and in the future there will be Marketline Advantage.  Marketetline are beefing up their company & country profiles and providing access to more case studies.  I counted them all* and there's 30,000 companies, 3,500 industry profiles and over 110 country profiles. You can also access all their case studies, over 50,000 financial deals reports along with over 60,000 news articles.  It took me a quite a while, as you can imagine.  The URL is http://advantage.marketline.com/ and should be available on-campus. Off-campus we'll sort out shortly.

Minor Changes

Changes are being made to a few electronic resources around here:

Justis will shortly be available on and off-campus via the search box and the adversearch page on the library website.

The interface, ans the URL for Marketline is changing. For a preview go here (on campus only). More content will be available too.

The Warc interface is changing too. There will be new content, including Topic Pages, which will provide a short cut to retrieving relevant content allin one place. Each Topic Page will include the likes of selected research papers, case studies, company profiles and news. In addition, Warc Briefings will provide historical overviews, detail likely future trends and suggest further readings on particular topics. More news as it becomes available.

New(ish) databases

Following the success of our recent trials of Computer and Applied Sciences Complete (CASC) and Marketline, the library has purchased full subscriptions to these databases. Many thanks must go to the database vendors for giving us instant access to these resources. CASC, as the name suggests is an engineering, computer science (and related disciplines) database, with 500 journals and periodicals available as full-text. Marketline is a business information database with a wealth of information on companies, industrial sectors and countries. Data can be exported to Word, Excel and PowerPoint. CASC is available off-campus via WebFeat and can be searched in WebFeat. Marketline is not searchable in WebFeat, but can be searched off-campus via the 'Search All Resources' link on the library home page

Database trial

From Monday 19th until Friday 30th January, we have on trial a new database, Marketline. This is a very comprehensive collection of company, industry, financial, product and country information, research and data extending across every major marketplace and industry. If you want an in-depth report on the bottled water industry in France or want to look at the volume of alcoholic beverages sold in Vietnam*, this is the database for you. Marketline is big on PEST SWOT and five forces analyses, which I understand are of interest to business students. Marketline will only be available on campus (IP authentication), so don't click the link at home. Don't click the link before the 19th or after the 30th either!
