EasyBib iPhone app
I'm pretty sure that we have mentioned EasyBib in the past, but for the benefit of newcomers, EasyBib, is a free web-based bibliographic formatting tool. Enter a website, book journal article etc. and EastBib will format a citation for you in a variety of standard referencing formats as required. You can use it to manage bibliographies much like Zotero but without the reliance on Firefox. Anyway, EasyBib have released an iPhone app that will, well you'll never guess, create accurate citations in mere seconds by scanning a book bar code or by typing the name of a book. It's almost enough to make me want an iPhone (almost, but not quite, Maria). Get your free EasyBib iPhone app here if you so wish

Sunday opening - redux
To facilitate study for professional school exams, the Aungier St. library will be open 11am to 5pm on Sunday 29th and Sunday 5th June. I stress, only the Aungier St. library will be open, the Dame St. library will be closed.

Yes we can... DS Library closing at 1pm on Monday 23rd
As you may know, President Obama’s speech will take place on College Green on Monday next (23rd May) and there will be major access restrictions to Dame Street starting at 14.00. Therefore our DBS Dame Street building will close at 13.00.
So if you do not wish to go and listen to President Obama and wish to study instead, you are invited to use our Aungier Street Library which will remain open until 22.00 that day.

EBSCOHost ebook trial
We have an ebook trial on the go at the moment. Yes, it's an odd time of year for a trial, but that's out of our hands unfortunately. Anyway, EBSCO have branched out into e-books and so are offering access to a wide number of such books through their EBSCOHost platform. The trial can be accessed from any EBSCO database, from the link in the top right corner, cunningly entitled Netlibrary ebook trial (once it replaces the "Dublin Business School" text. To use an Internet acronym YMMV (Your mileage may vary); I don't know what's available; Gross's Themes, Issues and Debates in Psychology is there, but otherwise it's a bit of a lucky dip. The trial will run until July and should be available to you off-campus. Also as far as I can tell, a book can only be read online. If I discover otherwise, I'll let you know

MINTEL
In the immortal words of Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth, good news everyone! Mintel is now available through EBSCOHost Integrated Search (EHIS). We're waiting on the IT department's web specialist adding Mintel (and a few other databases) to the search box on the library home page and indeed the list of databases on the advanced search page too. In the interim, to find Mintel on EHIS, go to the EHIS link on the e-library page
Responses to your suggestions
Some of you have recently made some suggestions via our suggestion box in AS and we would like to thank you, although some of your ideas might be a little bit... extreme! So if you really feel irritated by anything going on in the library while you are trying to study - such as students talking on the phone, people talking too loudly - please, do come to us to let us know and we will for sure address the issue.
With regard to our opening hours we received queries to open the library longer, and we do understand your needs to study before 9am or after 10pm, especially during exam time, but as the library itself cannot be open at these times you are very welcome to use one of the empty classrooms available in each DBS building.
May we also take this opportunity to highlight that DBS library is one of the academic libraries in the country that offers the longest opening hours (72 hours per week during term time, open sunday and bank holiday during exam time, no closing during the summer...) and that we always try to accomodate students' query when possible: for example we will be open on Sunday 29th May and Sunday 5th June to allow ACCA revise for their June exams.
So if you have suggestions to make and/or would like to get more details on the above, just contact us at library@dbs.ie or feel free to talk to us at the desk.
